J Rock

 JRock day has been and gone and the students of Horahora can hold their heads high for their performance! We were awarded 3 Certificates for Excellence in Drama, Stage Use and Visual Enhancement….. Well Done everyone. Below see some photos from the day’s activities…..

J Rock is a performance of music, dance and drama that ells a story. J Rock is Stage Challenge for primary schools.

This year we perform on Friday, June 11 at Founders Theatre. Our story is the Maori legend of the formation of the Waikato River.

We now have a soundtarck after a long afternoon with the sound man. And we have started practices. Time is of the essence….. less than 2 weeks until camp and then the following week it’ll be our performance! The countdown has started!

The Maori people come.

And the Pakeha followed.

It was decided that afence would be built.

Pests were captured

Pests were eradicated

Now the dawn chorus can return safely.
